How to book your event!

To book an event with us please contact us at least one month in advance.  On occasion we will have availability for events booked within a month of the requested date, however they may be subject to an extra fee.

We will travel to events in NH, MA, and ME and will consider other locations (please contact us).  Locations outside of a 30 mile radius of Exeter, NH are subject to an extra charge for mileage.  We try to keep extras to a minimum,so please contact us for more information as the rates will vary depending upon gas prices and locations.  (this does not apply to events we pay for our booth location at)

We recommend booking for two hours or more depending upon the size of the event.  Possibility of working over the time limit set will be discussed at time of booking.  Please note that if you do not wish for us to work overtime we will end the line promptly at the set time - we will begin to ready for ending approximately 15 minutes before we are set to stop.  This will limit the number of people still waiting in line to those we know we can finish before our time expires, but may result in some people not receiving a design.

Birthday Parties:

Face Painting -

For up to 15 children, with unlimited designs per child -- (please note: we will stay as long as the children are interested which is generally about 2 hours although sometimes they will be done with face painting earlier - usually about 1 & 1/2 hours is the littlest amount of time we spend).  Also, adults wishing to have their face painted are included at no extra cost. - $75 per hour.

For every 5 children extra, please add $15.  We will offer discounts for parties with more than 20 children.

Glitter Tattoos -

For up to 10 children, one design per child unless there is more time available (tattoos are done by hand and generally take at least 5 minutes or more each) - $100 per hour.

For every 5 children extra please add $20.  For parties with more than 20 children we would require two hours or more.

To book a party with both facepainting and glitter tattoos please ask!

Other events:

Corporate/other (includes fairs/festivals, etc. where we are hired and do not charge a per person fee) -  please contact us for fees as they depend upon the type of event, number of people expected, and types of designs required as well as number of painters needed.  Our general fee for one painter at a large event is $150 and is determined by the approximate number of cheek art designs that can be done in one hour.

About the Owner

Hello, I'm Denice - the face and life of Squirrelcat Designs.  Prior to starting my face-painting business I was a cosmetologist for eight years.  I worked as a makeup artist/hair stylist for Glamour Shots for nearly six of those years.  I decided to try my hand at face-painting due to a friend's request for me to do it at her daughter's birthday party.  Using paints purchased at a local store (from the very beginning I only purchased products labeled Face Paint), I knew I had found something I loved doing.  Since then my paints have changed dramatically - I use only professional products now and am constantly searching for that ever-elusive "something more" in way of a paint that will do everything I want it to do.

I am self-taught as a face-painter, however I do feel that my background in the beauty industry has helped me.  I must also credit a life-long love of art, and the many classes I took both in high school and in college as electives.  I also hold a degree in Photography and Digital Imaging, and would willingly use those skills at events if requested.

A bit about my personal hobbies and life:

I have 3 cats- Zoe Elisabeth, Bindi Lu, and Ms. Wigglesworth (aka Wiggles); 1 rabbit - Zena; and 1 horse - a Belgian mare named Saving Grace (aka Gracie, or "Moose").  I also have long-term boyfriend who sometimes helps me at events.

My hobbies include knitting, sewing, crosstitch, painting (of course...lol), horseback riding, archery, the SCA (sca.org) - a Medieval Re-creationist group, and soon I will become a member of the International Jousting Association - albeit not a jouster yet.  Gracie does wonderfully as a jousting and gaming horse, and takes pretty much anything thrown at her in stride.
